Account and Profile
My account disappeared after updating the app
Data is not deleted during updates. Usually the problem is related to logging in with a different authorization method.
I cannot log into my account. What should I do?
Make sure you are logging in through the same method you used during registration (Google / Apple / phone number). If the problem persists — contact support.
How do I delete my dating profile?
You can delete your profile yourself: Profile → Dating Settings → Delete Profile. If the button is not clickable — contact support, we will help.
How do I completely delete my account?
The dating profile is permanently deleted 30 days after deletion through the app settings. During this time, the profile is not displayed in search results or in other users' chats. Before 30 days expire, the user can restore the profile. Using the app in invisible mode is also available.
Can I create a new profile?
Yes. First delete your current dating profile, then create a new one with a new email. One profile per email address.
Why is my profile blocked?
Your profile may be blocked if: 1) you gave access to your account to other people; 2) halal communication rules were violated; 3) you shared contact information to continue communication on social networks.
Can I appeal a block?
Yes. Contact support, indicating: email / phone number and the reason why you think the block is a mistake.
Verification and Documents
Why is document verification needed?
For security, age verification, gender verification, and profile authenticity. This reduces the number of fakes. After admin verification, files are deleted from the server.
What documents are accepted?
Passport, ID card, or driver's license (depending on the country).
Can I upload a different document?
Yes. If the first document was not accepted — you can upload an alternative.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Documents are used only for verification and are not displayed to other users.
Photos and Verification
What photo should I use for Zawajy?
Choose a quality photo where you look good. The photo should be recent and reflect your real appearance. Avoid group photos, filters, and overly edited shots. Remember that first impressions are very important!
Why is my photo not being approved?
Photos go through manual moderation. Reasons for rejection: poor quality; face is not visible or deliberately covered; photo does not comply with rules, for example, awrah covering rules; multiple people in the photo. Usually verification takes a short time.
Why are photos blurred?
Users choose whether to blur photos or not — this is permitted by the service rules.
Where can I check if my photo is blurred?
Go to settings in the photos section. This is controlled by the "hide your photo" parameter. You can see what your profile looks like by clicking the icon in the upper right part of the screen in the profile.
Why don't I have a trust checkmark even though I have a subscription?
The diamond is a subscription indicator. The trust checkmark is successful photo verification. These are different features.
I cannot delete or replace a photo
Try clicking the pencil icon and replacing the photo. If it doesn't work — contact support.
Communication and Witnesses (Wali)
What should I add to my about me section?
Your profile description is a reflection of you. If you can't come up with good text, try making a list of what you like or want. Tell about your hobbies or the qualities of the person you would like to meet.
Why aren't my messages being delivered?
Zawajy operates on a halal model: first the message is read by a witness (wali), only after that it becomes available to the interlocutor.
Why does it take long for a message to open?
Until the witness reads the message, it will be on hold. If you have your own witness, then questions go to them. If you have one purchased from the service - then the administrator reads in order.
How do I add a witness (wali)?
You send a special link to the witness. After your witness follows the link and downloads the app and completes registration - you receive a notification that you have a new witness. Your matches also receive a notification. If difficulties arise — there is a button to go to Telegram for help.
Who can be a witness?
Any trusted person: mother, sister, brother, relative.
Chat disappeared / match disappeared
Possible reasons: user deleted their account; user blocked you; moderation deleted the profile.
Likes, Matches, and Premium
If likes match, what happens?
With a mutual like: a notification goes to the user who received the mutual like, a chat is created automatically; further communication goes through a witness.
Is Zawajy a free app?
Yes, Zawajy is a completely free app! You can create a profile, browse profiles, and communicate with matches without any payments. We believe that finding a life partner should be accessible to every Muslim.
Can I use it without a subscription?
Creating a profile — yes; liking — yes; using limited search filters - yes; communicating - yes; but viewing incoming likes requires premium.
What do diamonds on profiles mean?
Diamonds mean that the feature is only available with a subscription. It is impossible to remove them without a subscription. If such a diamond is on a profile - it means the user has a paid subscription. Likes from such users in incoming are not hidden, even if you don't have a paid subscription.
Subscription, Payment, and Refunds
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscription is canceled: through the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play (Android). Cancellation takes effect from the next month.
Will I get a refund for my subscription?
Cancellation disables the next charge, and the current paid period is not refunded. In some cases, support can help — contact us.
I accidentally bought the wrong plan
Contact support — we will consider the situation individually.
Money was charged but there is no subscription
Contact support and attach: receipt and App Store / Google Play email.
City, Region, and Language
I cannot select a city
If your city is not displayed: write its name to support; we will check and add it.
I don't see people from my city
Reasons: few active users; search filters; regional restrictions.
Notifications and Technical Issues
Message notifications are not coming
Check: notification permissions on your phone; notification settings in the app. If that doesn't help — update the app or system.
What should I do if an error appears in the app?
Contact support and if possible attach: screenshot; video; description of actions after which the error occurred.
